Training Course: Homo Ludens in Youth Work

Dates: 12-18 January 2020

Venue: Holloko, Hungary

Eligible are 27 participants coming from: Armenia, France, Georgia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Russian Federation, Ukraine

This LTTC aims to equip educators with the skills of game design and gamification in order to foster efficient educational process addressing current issues of nowadays.

General Description

The project was born from the idea to equip youth workers, youth trainers and educators with the skills of game design and gamification in order to foster / ensure efficient and engaging educational process addressing current issues such as intercultural and inter-religious dialogue in the work with marginalized groups, gender equality, human rights and developing soft skills of young people from different backgrounds.

The project is going to be a LTTC which will consist of 3 parts: 2 training courses and a local testing phase in between.

The participants will be expected to participate in the whole duration of the course.

Objectives for the LTTC:

  • to learn about the basics of game-design theory and its relation to person’s nature;
  • to reflect on connections between basic principles of games and non-formal education;
  • to share personal experience in using games and reflect critically on learning outcomes;
  • to learn about the opportunities behind games and gamification as well as their limitations;
  • to create and test educational games or gamified systems for the purposes of the target groups of participants;
  • to test the created prototypes with the target groups in the local communities;
  • to reflect on the user experience and learn how to make games more user friendly.

The LTTC has 2 activities:

1st Activity: 12-18 January 2020 (12th morning – arrival / 18th afternoon – departure day) – Holloko, Hungary

2nd Activity: 05-11 April 2020 (05th morning – arrival / 11th afternoon – departure day) – Rostov Velikiy, Russia

Profile of Participants:

The project is open for youth workers, trainers, coaches and educators who actively work at local / regional/national or international levels.

Criteria for selection:

  • Experience in youth work and active participation in the sending organization activities and work;
  • Motivation to participate in 100% of the length of the LTTC;
  • Shared expectations and clearly defined learning needs;

  • Openness for and appreciation of non-formal learning process in highly diverse context;
  • Commitment to go through the whole learning process, including responsibility for self-directed learning & learning outcomes, as well high level of motivation and discipline;
  • Commitment to reflect on personal learning process and ability to critically assess learning outcomes;
  • Commitment to follow up activities;
  • Commitment to disseminate the project results.

Costs

 

This project is financed by the Erasmus+ Youth Programme.

Accommodation and food

Board and lodging of the participants will be fully covered by the organisers. All participants will be accommodated in a room for 3-4 people. Three meals a day and coffee breaks will be provided in the whole duration of the activity.

Travel reimbursement

Travel costs for the activity in Hungary will be reimbursed acc. to the following limit:

  • Hungary – 0 EUR
  • Poland – 160 EUR
  • Russia, Ukraine, France, Lithuania – 255 EUR
  • Armenia, Georgia – 340 EUR

*The shuttle bus from Budapest to the venue will be organised by the organisers.

there’s a participation fee of 50 euros per participant per training course

This is a course for professional development of youth workers, educators and youth leaders who would like to organise educational projects and programmes with mixed ability groups using Human Rights Education.

General Description

Training course “Human Rights Education with Mixed Ability Groups” is a training course for professional development of youth workers, educators and leaders of educational programmes who would like to organize educational projects, programmes and activities with mixed ability groups through human rights education.

During the Training Course participants will discover:

-How to run mixed ability inclusive youth educational activities and projects based on Human Rights Education and non-formal learning approach;
– The values, principles, concepts and methods of human rights education;
– The principles of development and running of educational programmes within Human rights education field;
– Quality and particularities of human rights education activity with mixed ability groups of young people;
– What is the experiential learning cycle;
– Effective tips and hints on how to make HRE inclusive
– The levels of responsibility working in activities and projects with youth groups of mixed ability nature;
– Effective tools and instruments of inclusive youth worker and educator;
– The realities and best practices of youth educational activities and projects in EU, Eastern Partnership region and Russia;

The recognition of youth work, Youthpass and different learning instruments, youth worker’s competences and assessment.

Participants will also:

– Work in international groups;
– Get practical experience preparing and running human rights education activities with mixed ability groups during the trainiing course;
– Explore recent developments of youth work field;
– Set personal and professional development aims;
– Have an opportunity to develop international and local educational projects in the field of youth within and outside Erasmus+ programme.

It is expected that participants (together or individually) will organise local training/educational activities after the training course integrating human rights education and mixed ability approaches.

Profile of participants:

– Youth workers and youth leaders who act as youth educators in educational programmes and projects representing NGOs, working directly with young people with some experience of educational programmes with mixed-ability groups or without, but having strong dedication to introduce mixed ability approach and human rights education in their work;

– Interested in development of their organisation/institution and inclusive youth work in their respective city, region, country and Europe;
– Motivated for further professional development
– Aged: 18+;
– Able to communicate and work in Russian;
– Able to participate in the full duration of the course

Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, food, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered. All participants will be accommodated in a room for 3-4 people. Three meals a day and coffee breaks will be provided in the whole duration of the activity.

Travel reimbursement

Visa cost cover 100% and travel costs will be paid within the limits set by the Erasmus+ programme.

Limits for countries (most economic route will be required):

  • Latvia – 20 Eur/180 Euro (depending on the region),
  • Estonia, Lithuania – 180 Euro
  • Ukraine, Moldova, Germany – 275 Euro
  • Russian Federation – 275 Eur/360 Eur (depending on the region),
  • Armenia, Azerbaijan – 360 Euro,
