The aim is to foster exchange and to brainstorm together if the orientation of youth policy and youth work in the setting of youth centres is still tailored to the needs and interests of young people.

General Description

The everyday lives of young people are fast changing. At the same time the youth centres in Luxembourg have existed for over two decades, and there is a possibility, that the needs of young people are developing faster than, and not necessary in accordance with the concept, architecture and equipment of the youth centres.

Therefore, it is essential to analyse on a regular basis if this is the case, and if so, further develop and adapt the concept of the youth centres.

Through a participative approach we would like to gather policy makers, youth workers, and researchers to discuss what the youth centres of the future could look like, what could be the role of the youth workers, how we can reach out to young people, what the impact of digitalisation could be, and if the findings and needs are different for small, medium and large municipalities.

The objectives of this 2-day seminar are:

  • Present the challenges to adapt the youth centres to the fast changing needs and interest of young people in the view of youth workers, researchers and policy makers
  • Make an inventory of different models of youth centres
  • Elaborate possible alternative concepts and approaches for locally embedded youth centres

Venue: Sta Brígida (Gran Canaria), Spain

Eligible are 24 participants coming from: Croatia, Denmark, FYROM, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey

Application deadline: 5th May 2018

This training course aims to offer detailed and complete info about the different possibilities offered by Erasmus+ in the youth field, focusing on KA1. Also it will put particular emphasis on the philosophy, structure and characteristics of the Program.

General Description

Beyond the lack of information itself, far too often there are difficulties in matching specific ideas and needs with actual opportunities provided by the Programme.

Likewise, many organizations and promoters still have trouble in recognizing the long-term process of designing, applying for and managing quality projects.

In this sense our course is aimed at both young people and organizations that have no experience in the Programme as well as project-coordinators and entities looking for training on new sub actions of KA1 and willing to improve the quality of their educational projects in the youth field.

Taking into account that the next calls of proposals, this contact meeting will bring new projects within the participants of the course.

Objectives of the Training Course are:

– To present the Erasmus+ Programme in the framework of European youth policies and strategies.
– To explore the opportunities offered by the different sub-actions of KA1 of Erasmus+, focusing on their ability as a vehicle to transmit the common fundamental values to our society.
– To stimulate the practice in the management of international projects.
– To boost mobility and learning opportunities within the framework of Non-formal Education.

– To enable participants to reflect on their learning and to learn more about Youthpass – the strategy on the recognition of non-formal learning in the youth field, its technical tool to produce Youthpass Certificates, and its application in KA1 sub actions.
– To offer the opportunity to meet potential international partners to develop projects.

This project is financed by the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme.

Accommodation, meals and training material will be provided by the host organisation.
