General Description

Logo jugendmanagement is inviting all interested youth workers, teachers, and multipliers to the presentation of the Erasmus+ funded project “YES – Youth Empowerment in Sexual Health” and the correspondent symposium in Graz.

Next to a marketplace, where participants can get to know relevant organisations working in the field, three keynote speeches will broach the issue of sexual health and how to address it in youth work.

The attendance is free, travel cost reimbursement is gradually possibly (after consultation).

Please note that the working language of the symposium will be German.

Study Visit in Vienna: Women’s suffrage just turned 100 years: What has been the situation regarding equal rights since then? What struggles have been fought and whats the situation today? How can youth work play its part in the advocacy for equal rights?

General Description

In 2019, women’s suffrage celebrated its 100th birthday. What has been the situation regarding equal rights for women and men since then? What struggles have been fought in the past and what is the current situation? How can youth work play its part in the advocacy for equal rights?

Together we will travel to Vienna, where we will deal with the topics of women’s emancipation and self-determination. We will look at historical as well as current events and deal with current social and political developments. We will visit advice centres, youth organisations, museums and cultural-political events and talk to experts.

The reference person for this study visit is Marie Juchacz, who as co-founder and central leader of the AWO was a committed campaigner for women’s rights.

Women and men are equally invited to participate.

The working language ist German, so everyone who speaks German is very welcome.
The study visit can be recognised as educational leave by the German Ministry of Education.

Training Course From Separation to Participation: Addressing the Causes of Brexit – Embracing the Self

The aim of this course is to trace the relationship between the political and the personal. We address self-empowerment, self-awareness and personal responsibility to cultivate our value systems and address the deepest issues that Brexit highlights.

General Description

Embracing the Self

This is the second, stand-alone course of three, that seeks to address the underlying causes of the Brexit vote in the UK. It also looks at the similar rise of populism and ‘tribal’ politics across Europe (and the world).

The specific aim of this second course is to trace the relationship between the political and the personal. We address self-empowerment, self-awareness and personal responsibility as a way to cultivate our value systems and address the deepest issues that Brexit highlights.

On the course, we will:
• Look at tools for self-care and self-knowledge, including meditation and creative practice
• Practice the art of openness and connection to ourselves and others
• Empower participants with the tools to educate themselves and practice the skills of rhetoric and debate in order to be active citizens
• Look at the ways self-determination and individuality can flourish in healthy community systems

The course will use non-formal educational methods, including artistic presentations, group work, team-building games, group singing and practical exercises.

 The 13th boja Fachtagung deals with the topic of education in Youthwork. The 13th bOJA symposium will be dedicated to the topic of education in open youth work and will shed light on the interplay of youth, social and educational policy

General Description

The 13th “bOJA Fachtagung” is a can’t miss event for many Austrian Youth Workers that takes place in a diffrent region of Austria each year. In cooperation with Eramus+ in 2019 German Speaking Youth Workers are invited to take part as well.

The 3 day Event is a good opportunity to network, to discuss and to exchange with practioners, Experts, Researchers and Desicion makers. Each Year a mixture of Workshops, Discussions, Inputs and Project Presentations awaits the participants as well as the famous Networking Party.

The bOJA symposium has become a fixture in the calendars of numerous youth workers from all over Austria. In cooperation with Erasmus+, youth workers from German-speaking countries can participate for the first time this year. The unique conference takes place every year in a different Austrian province and on changing relevant topics.

The three-day event is an excellent opportunity to network, socialize, discuss and engage in a lively exchange of practitioners and academics and academics. Each year, the participants can expect an exciting mix of input lectures, discussions, workshops and individual practical project presentations in the context of the Worldcafés. The colorful framework program is also taken care of and the networking party rounds off the bOJA symposium.

At the 13th bOJA symposium in Alpbach, we will focus on the educational topic from different perspectives and highlight the many potentials that open youth work offers as an effective player in the educational landscape.

We open the space for discourse, inspiration and dialogue on the following topics related to open youth work: political education, transitional management school – work, equality of opportunity and education, promotion of democracy, cultural education, youth participation and a few more.

In addition, we focus on the issues of training of open youth work professionals. In addition to lectures, expert discussions and workshops, there will be a “playground” for participation and experimentation this year.

The nationwide expert conference Open Youth Work is a cooperation of bOJA – Nationwide Network Open Youth Work and the Federal Chancellery – Section Families and Youth (BKA) and Erasmus+ Youth programme.

General Description

Objectives of Training for Newcomers:

  • To provide an informed introduction to the Erasmus+ Youth Programme, focusing on Youth Exchanges and their capacity to enhance young people’s active engagement in the making of Europe (though not exclusively) for newcomers to the programme;

  • To offer an individual and group learning experience through a simulated process on setting up a Youth Exchange project;
  • To develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to organise a Youth Exchange, based on the non-formal learning practice, principles, and quality standards of the EU youth programmes;
  • To enable participants to reflect on their learning and to familiarise themselves with Youthpass – the strategy on the recognition of non-formal learning in the youth field, its technical tool to produce Youthpass Certificates, and its application in Youth Exchanges in particular and the EU youth programmes in general;
  • To offer the opportunity to meet possible partner groups and to make contacts in other countries.

Training for project managers and mentors in European Volunteering Project who would like to exchange experiences, get some information about the general and specific conditions and want to learn more about working with volunteers.

General Description

Each project is unique and needs new discussions with participants, within the own organization and about the EU Program Erasmus+ Youth and the European Solidarity Corps.

It doesn’t matter if you already have many years of experience with the European Voluntary Service (EVS) or if you are a Newcomer in the European Solidarity Corps (ESC).

You might have questions about the implementation and running of volunteering projects and also how to support volunteers. This German-speaking training will provide you with information about the general and specific conditions of European Volunteering Projects within the European Solidarity Corps or Erasmus+ Youth preogramme and will help you to exchange experiences and to clarify roles and tasks. Furthermore, it will help to improve the quality of your work with volunteers.

The Training will be held in German language and is organized in co-operation with the German NA. Please find a detailed description in German attached.

General Description

Interkulturelle Zentrum, the Austrian National Agency for Erasmus Youth Programme in cooperation with SALTO Training & Cooperation Resource Centre and with the support of Jugend für Europa, is glad to announce the second edition of this training course addressed to trainers training trainers & youth workers, as well as educators of youth workers, who are ready to live through and reflect on using and applying competence models with a specific focus on attitudes, values and inner readiness.

The intentions of the course are:

• To explore and experience the development of a competence-based approach in youth work training & education
• To experiment how to use competence models in training /curriculum development by focusing on some essential dimensions: attitudes, values, and inner readiness
• To reflect on the development of a needs-based approach in training and education activities
• To identify further application of participants’ learning outcomes in their working contexts
• To explore the understanding what forms a competence: what potential is offered to participants; what about the magic when it happens?

Should you be interested by this course, please be ready for the following elements:

– Self-assessment to support working on and along learning needs
– Experiential outdoor activities (e.g. walks, exercises and a possible night outside in the nature) – this is a big part of the programme
– Individual and group reflection
– Discourses on how to put the learning and experience(s) into own practice

Interested applicants with mobility impairment should first contact the organizers.

The course will follow the same principles than those developed for COMETS (see attachment). The team of trainers for this training course are Peter Hofmann, Arturas Deltuva, and Gisele Evrard Markovic (SALTO T&C RC).

Following the selection process, the training team might contact the participants with specific information and tasks regarding the further development of the programme.

Participant profile: this training course is addressed to trainers and educators being active and advanced in the implementation of (international) trainings. It offers them an opportunity to come together to reflect upon, discuss and develop further their attitudes and their inner readiness to work with and on a competence model based approach.

The overall purpose of the training course is to lift the potential of participants to take further steps in their professional practice. In this context, advanced means that the trainers-learners have the capacity to direct and reflect upon their own learning and in particular, the ability to self-assess their own competences.

The competence model which will be used as an example for this training course is the European Training Strategy (ETS) Competence Model for Trainers Working at International Level developed by SALTO Training & Cooperation Resource Centre
