General Description

Have you ever considered becoming a trainer and conducting trainings for youth? If so – then The Netherlands School for Innovative Education invites you to join the training for trainers where you will receive knowledge and skills necessary to become a professional trainer!

The event is meant for youth workers who do not have any training experience or have only minimal experience in conducting trainings. Conducting training might seem an easy but those who have done it – they know for sure – conducting a good training is an art!

In order to be successful trainer you need to gain specific knowledge and skills. Where acquire this knowledge? How to develop those skills?

During this course will share all that with you. The training covers the following topics:

– Coach work – what does it mean – being a coach? Participants will know about the features of this work and how to become a great trainer.
– Coach skills – participants will learn the skills necessary to become a successful trainer. Resources for trainers – where coaches can find examples of trainings, where they can find needed tools other useful information essential for providing a high-quality training? Participants will be given information about the resources for trainers.
– Job market for trainers – participants will learn about the working opportunities for trainers: where and how trainers can look for jobs as a trainer; how trainers can find the trainings to conduct; how to position yourself on a market in order to find customers and other topics related to job opportunities for trainers.
– Practice – participants will have workshops where they will put theory into life. Session is based upon participants’ request – we would like to create the course as interactive as possible therefore we leave the room to conduct the sessions according your ideas.

Please, let us know which topics you would like to cover and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

This course is the way to make the first step on your training path! If you did not know where to start with – this event is a great opportunity to do that! After this course you will have a clear idea about the steps of becoming a successful coach.

Though the event aims on preparing the trainers for youth projects, we believe gained skills and knowledge could be also successfully applied in different fields of trainings such as business trainings, trainings on personal development. We believe successful youth trainers can develop themselves in the future and apply their knowledge in different fields.

The event is organized by the Netherlands Institute of Business. We are regularly organizing trainings and study programs in Amsterdam, Moscow and other locations. We are open for cooperation with new trainers. Therefore, we would be happy to invite successful alumni of our courses to join our team as trainers for our future projects!

If you are interested – feel free to send us an email with your interest after the course!

PBA: Inclusive Volunteering in Social Economy

Dates: 30 April – 4 May 2019

Application deadline: 10th January 2019

SALTO I&D and the Turkish National Agency for Erasmus+ Youth programme would like to see more young people with fewer opportunities taking part in volunteering projects.

General Description

Do you have experience working with individuals with special needs such as disability, social issues, mental challenges or an organisational environment that would welcome young people with such needs? Perhaps you’re experienced with volunteering but need more partners who can host these young people? Or maybe you just want to make a difference to young people’s lives…

Then this partnership building activity is for you! We would like to see more young people with fewer opportunities taking part in volunteering projects, but many hosting projects are not adapted or do not provide the needed extra support for young people (18-30 years) with special needs.

We believe that social economy organisations, with the necessary structures in place to support volunteers from disavantaged background in their activities, could become the perfect hosting place for these young people.

Hosting European volunteers gives not only the opportunity to change lives but the chance to add an international dimension and increase organisational capacity. We therefore want to bring ‘social economy’ organisations together with inclusion, youth and volunteering fields to explore the possibilities, advantages and concerns of having an European Volunteer.

Following a 2017 Inclusion & Diversity Strategy Steering Group meeting with representatives of social economy and the Youth and Vocational Education Forum 2018 (hosted in UK as part of the long term Toward’s Collaborative Practice), social economy organisations have been identified as often having projects or activities that are particularly directed towards people in underprivileged situations.

Despite frequently seeking committed volunteers to support their work, many organisations remain unaware of European volunteering funding opportunities, requirements and structures – such as the European Solidarity Corps. This partnership-building activity is a follow-up of the training course under the same topic taking place in Glasgow 10-14 December 2018.

This 3-day activity will take place in Ankara from 30th April (arrival day) to 4th May (departure) 2019 and it will be a unique opportunity to find partners to create inclusive volunteering projects in the framework of ESC. Although the programme also covers jobs and traineeships opportunities, this activity will only focus on quality volunteering projects.

General aim:

To introduce European volunteering projects to social economy organisations and encourage partnerships with inclusion, youth and volunteering organisations for quality, sustainable volunteering projects for young people with fewer opportunities.

Objectives:

– To get acquainted with the existing opportunities for youth volunteers’ placement, under European Solidarity Corps
– To share different practices on how to involve volunteers with fewer opportunities
– To motivate social economy organisations to host and send volunteers with fewer opportunities
– To develop skills in Erasmus+/ESC project management, specifically on volunteering initiatives
– To foster partnership building of potential hosting/supporting organisations equipped to support young people with fewer opportunities

Profile of participants at the course:

– Staff members/volunteers of social economy and volunteering organisations able to work on inclusion or directly with young people with fewer opportunities
– Youth workers (grassroots – involved in outreach youth work and directly working with young people with fewer opportunities)
– Staff members/volunteers involved in inclusion organisations
– Able to work in (international) English
– From ESC programme countries
– Former participants of the TC held in Glasgow (December 2018) are strongly encouraged to apply.
